technorati & Web 2.0 & Google docs

Well, I can see that technorati is an interesting way to keep up-to-date in the latest blog entries without having to subscribe to a particular blog. Kind of like reading the headlines in a newspapter. And another way to promote one's blog in the uber space with a corresponding loss of privacy.

As to defining library 2.0 and web 2.0--the InfoPeople class summed it up pretty nicely. 2.0 fosters collaboration--it's not done something for us, it's something we do ourselves. And no, it doesn't mean the end of traditional library service, but allows us more choices and opportunities to provide and enhance that service and offer new services.

I like the idea of Google docs--I can work on files on any computer with Internet access while I'm at the Info. Desk and then copy them into my Word or Excel docs. on my computer. It's easier than using Word, because then I'd need to same to a flash drive and upload to my PC. This is much more portable!
